Wawrinka wins French Open crown 2015

Stan Wawrinka has completed a dream fortnight at Roland-Garros, using his power and magnificent backhand to stun Novak Djokovic in a four-set final.

After dropping the first set, Wawrinka stepped up his aggression and was rewarded, hitting the world No.1 off the court to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.

Despite some brilliant tennis from Djokovic and some incredible momentum swings in the fourth set, the Swiss star was irrepressible, sealing his second Grand Slam singles title in three hours and 12 minutes.

Wawrinka earned 1.8 million euros (about $2 million).
